ARO (short for Auto Romania) was a Romanian off-road vehicle manufacturer located in Câmpulung. The first ARO vehicles were produced in 1957, and the last in 2003. ARO manufactured over 380,000 vehicles, 2/3 of which were exported to some 110 countries on five continents. AROs were also produced in Brazil, Italy, and Portugal, often under different brand names such as Portaro and ACM.

ARO's history began in 1957 with the production of the IMS-57, based on the Russian GAZ-69. The company evolved through various models, including the M59, M461, and the famous 24 Series launched in 1972.
The ARO logo featured a simple two-colored crest design that remained largely unchanged throughout the company's existence from 1957 to 2006.
The logo consisted of a white crest with a slightly rounded bottom and a straight horizontal top line, framed by a medium-thick border in a rich, intense shade of blue.
The main element of the visual identity was the ARO lettering, executed in lowercase with narrowed contours of elegant letters. The elongated tail of the 'R' linked to the bottom of the crest, creating a cohesive design.
The typeface used for the lettering was a custom sans-serif with thick clean lines and softened contours, conveying a sense of style and beauty.
The official blue and white color palette was chosen to evoke feelings of reliability and security.
